So, we have been feeding Derby better quality food these days. Westies are known for their itchy skin and the poor thing started to look neglected with all of her itching & scratching. After advice from some certain people, Daddy-O, I headed to an all natural food store and splurged for grain-free dog food. Also, every night she gets drops of cod liver oil on her food, that was advice from my sweet grandmother. Her skin has improved tremendously and she no longer looks like she has the mange.
It has been worth it to splurge the extra money for my sweetie.
Side effect of food and cod liver oil: the silent but deadly poots. Oh yeah, they are awful.
(Just a side note: I said poots rather than farts 'cause as a child growing up we were not allowed to say certain words. We had to use words such as fanny, hiney, poot, etc. My mom didn't think it was lady like to say words such as butt. Gotta love my mom, that true southern lady.)
